Brief
MercuryKX / Decca Records is looking to create animations for an ambient / instrumental album Music For Growing Flowers by Scottish composer / multi-instrumentalist / producer Erland Cooper.
The first half of the album is a 20-minute beautifully atmospheric and melodic piece. This piece is the commissioned soundscape for Superbloom, an installation of 20 million flowers at the Tower of London to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
We are seeking an animated video (around 3 mins) of an excerpt of the piece themed around rewilding cities to share on 1 June, when the installation launches.
Concept
Rewilding Cities
Rewilding urban spaces around the world with flowers
- a growing narrative from seed to hopeful rejuvenation by providing the right conditions eg. water / light.
- flowers transforming and taking over urban spaces
- flowers healing & nurturing
- imagery of flowers bringing in pollinators (ie, bees, butterflies, birds, etc)
- imagery global in scale – depicting urban spaces around the world
rewild – restore ecosystems to the point where nature can take care of itself; reinstate natural processes and, where appropriate, missing species – allowing them to shape the landscape and the habitats within
