Supernormal and Mercury and Me is the first new music from Everything Everything since the release of acclaimed 5th LP Re-Animator last year which emerged to widespread critical acclaim last summer with many hailing the band’s visionary cocktail of intricate experimentation and immediately accessible art-pop.
Released on 10inch colourful splatter vinyl for Record Store Day 2021, the realese also includes remixes for tracks from Re-Animator from Foals and IOE AIE.

AWAL & EE with the brief following on from the EE Re-Animator Album campaign.
Supernormal’s about how culture and consumerism these days is getting increasingly ‘over-the-top’ and sensationalist and exaggerated. Everything is MORE! EXTRA! BIGGER! So the artwork should reflect that.
‘Mercury & me’ on the other hand, is a very insular song so should be kind of opposite but connected visually in some ways, just ‘classier’ feel.
Taking 3D assets and alternative unused compositions created for the Re-Animator campaign and giving them an OTT twist.
Colours were inspired by speaking with the band and taking inspiration from EE’s recent music videos.
SUPERNORMAL was given a less realistic, strange and exaggerated feel to the 3D figures & wild almost fluorescent strong pink. Featuring Bold typography for the front cover.
Mercury & me was given a subsurface texture with underwater green/blue hues. With the title small and fairly delicate in a corner as a contrast for the back.
“It’s about being a slave to our instincts no matter how extreme they become”
“‘Supernormal’ is about supernormal stimuli; highly exaggerated triggers that create a stronger reaction in us than evolution ever intended.”
